The Network Effect: Why Everyone Accepted Digital Surveillance Without Question

There's a social pressure to be connected and signed up to certain apps or services. Like you're missing out if you aren't apart of it. This comes from the network effect. When all your friends, family, even institutions around you use a service (google services, facebook, apple, etc) you begin to feel or in some cases are left out. Today I'll discuss how big tech capitalizes on this to manipulate & almost extort users into surveillance.
