Everything you need to know about using Subnano

About Subnano

Learn about what Subnano is and how it works

What is Subnano?

Subnano is a micro-transaction content platform that enables users to access premium posts via Nano (XNO) cryptocurrency payments. It allows content creators to monetize their work through small, instant payments without traditional subscription models.

How does Subnano differ from traditional content platforms?

Unlike traditional platforms that rely on subscriptions or advertisements, Subnano operates on a pay-per-post model using Nano cryptocurrency. This means no recurring fees, no ads, and true ownership of your content purchasing decisions.

What is Nano (XNO)?

Nano (XNO) is a digital currency focused on instant, fee-less transactions. It's perfect for micro-payments because there are no transaction fees, making it ideal for small content purchases. The current price of Nano is $0.8915 (CoinGecko).

Do I need to own Nano to use Subnano?

Yes, to purchase content you'll need a small amount of Nano (XNO) in a wallet. However, you can browse the platform and view free content without owning any Nano.

How do I get Nano?

You can buy Nano from any exchange that supports Nano. Some popular options include Binance, ChangeNOW, Kraken, and Nanswap.

Payments & Commissions

Information about payments, pricing, and commission rates

What is the commission rate on Subnano?

Subnano takes a 7.5% commission on all content purchases. This commission helps us maintain and improve the platform.

How do I set prices for my content?

As a creator, you can set any price for your posts when creating or editing them. We recommend setting micro-payment friendly prices between 0.01 and 1 Nano for most content pieces.

Are there any transaction fees?

Nano itself has zero transaction fees, which is why we've chosen it. The only fee is the 7.5% commission that Subnano takes from each purchase.

What happens if I send too much Nano when purchasing content?

Currently, we recommend scanning the QR code or clicking the payment link to ensure the exact amount is requested from your wallet. Our system does not yet support automatic refunds for excess payments, so any amount sent above the required price will be considered a donation to Subnano.

How quickly will I get paid as a creator?

Payments are processed instantly and automatically. Once a user purchases your content, the funds are sent directly to your Nano wallet.

Login & Authentication

How to sign up and log into Subnano

How do I sign up for Subnano?

You can sign up in two ways: (1) By making your first purchase with Nano, which creates an anonymous account that can later be linked to an email, or (2) By using our Nano login system to make a small verification payment.

What is the Nano login process?

Our Nano login system generates a unique payment address for you. By sending any tiny amount of Nano (eg. 0.000001 XNO) to this address, you can authenticate yourself securely without needing passwords. The system verifies the payment and grants you access. Additionally, your funds are immediately refunded back to your wallet after successful authentication.

Is my payment information secure?

Yes, our platform uses ephemeral payment addresses generated uniquely for each transaction. We never store private keys or sensitive payment details, and all data is encrypted using industry-standard security protocols.

Can I use email to log in?

Yes, once you have an account (created via Nano login or purchase), you can link an email address to your account and then use email OTP (one-time passcode) for future logins.

Why does Subnano use cryptocurrency for login?

Nano login provides a passwordless, secure authentication method that doesn't require storing sensitive user data. It also creates a seamless experience since you're already using Nano for transactions on the platform.

Content & Publishing

Information for creators about publishing content

What type of content can I publish on Subnano?

You can publish text content that complies with our content guidelines. Support for images and embedded media content will be added in future updates. All content must adhere to our community standards and legal requirements.

Is there a content review process?

While we don't pre-review every post, we have automated and user-triggered content moderation. Content that violates our guidelines may be removed, and repeat violations could result in account restrictions.

Can I edit my published content?

Yes, you can edit your published content at any time. However, major changes to paid content that users have already purchased may violate our trust guidelines. Minor updates and corrections are always welcome.

How do I format my content?

Our editor supports rich text formatting for better presentation. You can use headings, lists, quotes, and other formatting options to create appealing content.

Technical Questions

Technical aspects of the platform and troubleshooting

What wallet should I use with Subnano?

Any modern Nano wallet should work well with Subnano. Some popular options include Natrium (mobile), Nault (desktop/web), and Cake Wallet (mobile/desktop). Make sure your wallet supports QR code scanning for the best experience.

How does Subnano track payments?

Subnano uses a real-time monitoring system that watches the Nano blockchain for transactions to specific addresses. When a payment is detected, the system immediately verifies and processes the transaction.

What if my payment is stuck or not detected?

Nano transactions are usually very fast (under 1 second). If your payment isn't detected within a minute, check that you sent the correct amount to the right address. If the issue persists, contact our support team with your transaction details.

Does Subnano hold my funds?

No, Subnano never holds your funds. Your Nano remains in your own wallet until you choose to make a payment. When you purchase content, the payment is processed through an ephemeral address that automatically splits the payment between the content creator (92.5%) and Subnano (7.5%). This distribution happens immediately after the payment is confirmed on the Nano network. The system is designed to route transactions directly to their final destinations without holding any funds in between. Your transaction simply passes through our system to ensure proper distribution to creators.

Is Subnano open source?

No, Subnano is not open source. Our codebase is proprietary to protect the security and integrity of our platform. We still value transparency and community feedback, but we've made the decision to keep our code closed-source at this time.
